A-S B-S C-S D-S letters refer to the stock locking plates for the left-hand shotgun to be used only with left-hand (cast-on) stocks. After changing the drop make sure that you shoot some clay targets to assure yourself that you're impact point is correct for your dimensions and style of shooting.Ĭoupling instruction: the drop change kits are identified by letters. Remember that when you alter the stock drop of a shotgun you are actually altering the impact point of the gun as well. The recoil pad may now be aligned and screwed back into place to complete the drop change. Then place the lock washer and nut on the recoil spring tube and re-tighten it. (Making sure the plate fits exactly into its wooden receptor). Turn the shotgun barrel toward the floor so that the stock will stay in place while you drop the correspondingly lettered retaining plate into the stock. (This stud corresponds with a small hole in the receiver back) then follow with the stock. Note that all the retaining plates have a larger wing on one side than the other and must be properly reinserted into the stock to fit into the wooden mold provided for them.ĥ) Place your selected stock shim on the recoil spring tube first, with the stamped letter facing toward the stock and the small stud facing the receiver. To avoid tearing the rubber recoil pad, apply a light coat of petroleum jelly or grease to the shaft of the screwdriver.Ģ) Using a 13 mm deep well socket and along with a rachet and extension, remove the stock retaining nut by turning the rachet counter clockwise.ģ) The stock along with the retaining nut, the lock washer, the retaining plate (with proper drop letter stamped on it), and the stock spacer will now all slide off the recoil spring tube.Ĥ) Now you are ready to reinstall a new drop kit. Installed in the shotgun is a "D" metal stock plate and a plastic adjustment shim for U.S.A.įor other markets it is installed a "B" adjustment, while "A" and "C" kits are contained in the box.ġ) Utilizing a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws from the recoil pad of the Benelli shotgun. The contents of your shotgun box should contain: a "B" and "C" metal stock plate and plastic adjustment shim. If this drop is still too low then select the "B" adjustment plate, and shim required for this setting). (For example if the shim says "D" move to a "C" shim and corresponding adjustment plate. If it is too low, then you need to raise the stock and should select the next alphabetical "adjustment". The next step is to determine if your stock is too high or too low for you. See the instructions on loading and unloading on pages 23-24. 13).Įach unit is marked with the corresponding letter.īefore attempting any work on your Be-nelli make sure that the chamber and the magazine of your shotgun are unloaded.
